How GBB got started
I love to cook! I love to eat! All the eating caught up to me, so I started spreading the joy of baked goods to friends and family. They kept spreading the word, and I decided to make my hobby into a little business. I have received so much love and support from friends and family, and SO many people asking "do you have a website?" that I decided to get one started.
Who are we?
I am pretty much a one-woman show in the kitchen. My husband usually helps me do quality control to make sure everything is up to snuff before I put the GBB stamp on a new recipe. He also helps me deliver the big cakes. We both grew up in Maryland and now live in Baltimore.
Why we are special
If I haven't said it enough, I LOVE to eat. I love to watch other people enjoy the food I make, and I put a lot of energy into making sure it will be enjoyed. The flavors I create are intense and rich. Subtlety in the kitchen has never really been my thing, so you will never be left saying "is this lemon?" or "I think it's got some raspberry in it..." I use seasonally available fresh fruit (or out of season frozen fruit) to make fresh puree to flavor frostings, rather than artificial flavoring. Everything I make is made from scratch in my kitchen so you will have no doubt that it is 100% quality goodness. Furthermore, all my cakes and cupcakes look like food - no need to fuss over a costly fondant-covered sticky mess!
This is my passion. This isn't just something I have to do - I really enjoy creating a sweet masterpiece for you to take home and enjoy, and maybe share. . . but probably not.
