GB Foods, Inc. (formerlery GB Ice Cream and Sorbets, Inc) was acquired by Emmanuel Megrelis in 1987, and continued to make gourmet ice cream and sorbets for many years, supplying mainly the food service industry.
Management detected the need in the food service industry of a "customer-oriented-can-do" specialty manufacturer of bread products and, it was then, in 1992, that the first bakery products were manufactured (frozen dough croissants).
In 2003, the company made the strategic decision to focus entirely in the manufacturing of bread products and sold substantially all of the assets of its icecream business. Today, the company is well-positionned to focus on bread manufacturing and capture the increasing demand for French and Latin/Hispanic bread products.
Its core strategy is to be a super-regional leading producer and marketer of bakery products in an eleven state area including Texas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Colorado, Arizona, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Georgia, Florida, Alabama and New-York, plus the company is in the process of expending into key East Coast states.
